The Iron Monkey is asking Jersey City citizens to register to vote – and making it easy to do so.
From Monday, April 15 through Sunday, April 21, guests at The Iron Monkey will be able to register to vote in the restaurant. Anyone who registers (and anyone who provides proof that they voted in the last election) will receive a discount of 50% off their food bill.
The voter registration deadline for voters in the upcoming municipal election is in April, and Iron Monkey owner Stephen McIntyre wants voters from every political party to have the opportunity to allow their voice to be heard.
“Voting is such an important privilege that we have, and I want to make sure that everyone who wants to vote can,” says McIntyre.
As part of the voter
registration event, Iron Monkey hosted a fundraiser for Ward E Council
Candidate Dan Levin on Wednesday, April 17.
Levin is a longtime Jersey City activist who has served as the president of the
Harsimus Cove Neighborhood Association, and as the founder of the Civic JC, a
good government organization that was instrumental in implementing Pay-to-Play
reform.
